One of our lab's recent graduates, Wootaek Lim, has been offered a position at a University back home in South Korea and some of the lab recently wished him farewell. His work primarily was on the rehabilitation aspects of spinal cord injury using treadmill training to see if that can help the rehab process. Keep an eye out for his upcoming publications!
This is quite an interesting TED talk by Dr. Leana Wen on conflicts of interest that physicians may have. Conflicts of interest are a double edged sword in my opinion - necessary to push the best medicine and research forward, but also a dangerous tight rope walk that needs to ultimately keep patients' best interests in mind.
Jacob Jarvis, a 15 year old with DMD, was featured on ESPN recently as the inspiration behind OSU's improbable championship run. He's the real champion in my mind!
Our lab, again is participating in the Muscle Walk of Jacksonville, hosted by the MDA. I'd like to share our team page and encourage anyone interested to donate a few dollars to the MDA. The MDA is a fantastic organization, providing assistance to individuals and families affected by diseases to the muscle. It also is the organization that first involved me in the muscular dystrophy community.
If interested, you can make a donation to our team page here !
Thanks and have a great day.

At UF's MD-PhD Program, we participate in a 'clinical practicum' during the M1 and M2 years, where the MD-PhD students come up with a hypothesis driven research project and execute a full clinical study. Ours recently was accepted for publication in Rejuvenation Research.
Hi and thanks for stopping by my website. The intention of having my own website is to share my interests, network with individuals that may be interested in some of our work, and to share others' views through this platform. This is all solely my own views, and civil critique is more than encouraged. If you have interesting posts regarding anything pertinent to this site, I'd love to hear from you and please do not hesitate to contact me! _
